The Ask
Illustrate the impact that pop culture and current events had on fashion throughout the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. To demonstrate this knowledge, a compilation of Women’s Daywear, Women’s Eveningwear, Menswear, and Accessories from each decade was expected, in addition to captions noting popular silhouettes and contributing designers of the era.
The Process

When examining the impact that history has on the fashion industry, conducting proper research is crucial. Finding reputable, reliable, and diverse sources allowed me to include a variety of facts and nuggets of information in this project.

Throughout the drafting process, I began writing captions for each photograph included based on my research. While utilizing the research I conducted was important during this process, ensuring that I was honoring fashion history was equally important.

When formatting all of my research and drafted captions, I was able to exercise my creative muscle. As a pop culture buff, I enjoyed utilizing the amalgamation of facts I know to impact the stylistic choices I made. Between the font, background image, and color scheme I chose for each decade, I believe that I honored each time period.
The Outcome:
As someone who greatly appreciates the relationship between pop culture and fashion, I enjoyed working on this project from start to finish. I liked stretching my creative muscles by designing each slide and figuring out how to turn my research into an aesthetically pleasing final product.
